ISO/AWI 56008 Innovation management — tools and methods for innovation operation measurements — Guidance

In the systematic approach, the inputs to the system will be converted into outputs and results, which are analyzed and evaluated by measuring and evaluating the results, system performance. Innovation management system as a set of systems includes results that must be measured with appropriate indicators to determine the efficiency of the system for an organization. Measurement and evaluation of innovation operations and innovative results are performed in the form of a framework and process codified and appropriate to the system and with the help of methods and tools designed for it.

Therefore, in an organization, the selection of methods and tools for measuring the innovative performance of the innovation management system and the design of a codified framework for this requires adequate knowledge, professional specialists and the creation of appropriate conditions and context. The ISO 56008 document provides appropriate methods and tools for measuring the innovative performance and operation of the system in organizations that have implemented some form of innovation management system, in particular using ISO 56000 standard family documents. .

Given the above, when an organization seeks to measure the innovative performance of its innovation management system, the following will be important:

The purpose of the measurement
Appropriate measurement strategy
Time and frequency of the measurement and evaluation process
Measurement indicators
Appropriate method or methods
Tools for performing measurement operations
Specialists or people present in the process
System elements
How to submit reports and exploit them
Etc

If the organization has designed and implemented its innovation management system efficiently and effectively, with the help of ISO 56008 document, the methods and tools introduced in this document can improve the outcome of its innovation and advance the overall goals. The organization should move forward. On the other hand, when this system is not designed properly, the results of the measurements will be defective and impaired that the organization can evaluate its innovation management system with the help of ISO 56004 document under the title of methods and tools for evaluating the innovation management system. And find the source of system malfunctions and malfunctions and take steps to correct and improve it.
